This internship is aimed at final-year students (2025) or recent graduates seeking practical experience in publishing, specifically in Sesotho languages (Sepedi, Setswana, Sesotho). Interns will gain hands-on exposure to dictionary and book production, editing, proofreading, project management, and digital publishing.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end publishing processes for Sesotho language titles
• Apply editing and proofreading principles to content
• Support book design, production, and sourcing of artwork (photographs/illustrations)
• Assist with project management, scheduling, and budget management
• Commission freelancers, manage contracts/rates, and support digital publishing (ePubs, online course material)

Qualifications

• Home language speaker of Sesotho languages (Sepedi, Setswana, Sesotho)
• BA in Humanities (degree or diploma)
• South African citizen with access to reliable transport
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail with analytical thinking and a willingness to learn
